The GLCYD has established the Young Artist's Art Gallery to highlight area children's art and creativity.
One of the 40 Developmental Assets is "Creative Activities." According to the 2000 Youth Asset Survey,
only 18% of our 8th, 10th, and 12th graders are regularly involved in art activities.
This gallery highlights children's visual art as a way of reinforcing the importance of
art expression and exposure for young people.

Check out the school displays listed here on our web site. See the great work that kids are doing
as they express themselves & explore a variety of art mediums.

Superior Central School

"At Superior Central School, we have been studying the various historical movements in art and evaluating the artistic intent for the creation of
works in reference to previous works of art created. While synthesizing the usage of the elements and principles of design, students created their own
interpretation of the different "Isms" to convey meaning in that particular style. Hence, we have artworks from Dadaism, Fauvism, Abstractism,
Surrealism, and Expressionism in this particular study."
