The GLCYD has established the Young Artist's Art Gallery to highlight area children's art and creativity. One of the 40 Developmental Assets is "Creative Activities." According to the 2000 Youth Asset Survey, only 18% of our 8th, 10th, and 12th graders are regularly involved in art activities. This gallery highlights children's visual art as a way of reinforcing the importance of
art expression and exposure for young people.

Check out the school displays listed here on our web site. See the great work that kids are doing
as they express themselves & explore a variety of art mediums.

Superior Central School

Superior Central School students have been studying the technique of stippling, somewhat like the artist Georges-Pierre Seurat
(2 December 1859 – 29 March 1891) a French painter. They have chosen a specific person(s) or animal(s) to create.
The final project was a calendar for which they competed to earn placement.
